This all-star Portland quartet (plus horns) infuses classic cuts, obscure nuggets and DK Stewart originals with a fresh take on the blues, New Orleans funk and R&B.

Stewart, whose New Orleans, boogie-woogie piano style has been a driving force behind such Northwest blues giants as Robert Cray, Paul deLay and Curtis Salgado, has for the past several years been tearing up major festival stages with his own group, the DK Stewart Band. Backed by former Paul deLay Band bassist Don Campbell, longtime deLay guitarist Peter Dammann, and drummer Cory Burden, Stewart serves up swinging, uptempo jump blues by Nat Cole, Charles Brown and T-Bone Walker; hard-grooving New Orleans funk by Professor Longhair, Clifton Chenier and the Meters; slashing Chicago blues by Howlin’ Wolf and Magic Sam; and his own soulful, compelling originals. Magazine delivers a wide range of danceable Classic Rock, along with a mix of today’s Rock hits destined to become classics. Having a good time with our friends is what Magazine is all about! With Jette’s dynamic lead vocals, acoustic guitar, rockin percussion and keyboards; Paul’s precision on lead & rhythm guitar; Gish laying down the fat bass sound, Keith’s driving the band on drums; RicoV’s smokin lead vocals & tight rhythm & lead guitar, this is a band you will walk away remembering. Band members have shared the stage with many local and National artists including: Duffy Bishop, The Guess Who, Christopher Cross, Crosby Stills & Nash, and Huey Lewis. Unite was formed by Davy Jones Ridout and Chuck Fishbone Fischer. They just needed these amazing musicians to create the music that would captivate and change people's lives... And that's exactly what they found with Unite: five people with one soul. You will hear the sounds of one of the best trumpet players in town, Chuck Fischer. He has been playing since he was a young boy as soloist in one of the best drum and bugle corps in the nation. With Tim on drums and his brother Steve on bass, they are a dynamic duo to be reckoned with. Their rhythm is an impervious, flawless force. Both have written and performed hundreds of songs together. And then there's Forrest Fire: what?! This guy can play the guitar anywhere, anytime, with any part of his body with flawless precision and bind blowing technique. And last but certainly not least, Davy Jones Ridout. With lyrics, NAY, poetry like that, the band just takes off and really makes the music move. A born entertainer, Davy appeared in his first musical at three months old, now with over 30 musicals under his belt. As a dancer, singer, songwriter and guitarist, he really brings the band to a new level and with the rest of the band singing backgrounds Unite is truly a force to be beheld and enjoyed.

We are advancing in quality and quantity of music at a rate that none of us had previously experienced.
