Why you decided to compete for the Royalty Court? I heard about the pageant as a scholarship opportunity and people thought I would have a lot of fun doing it - which I did! I love to perform and travel so this seemed like a great opportunity to just have fun. I've been in the Marysville area for 16 years and I figured as a senior I should branch out and do something like this. I'm always down for something that keeps me very busy and who doesn't want to be a princess? :]

What experiences so far in the festival is something you will always remember? The dance rehearsals before the pageant and trying to figure out how to play hungry hungry hippos (it's kind of an inside joke). I won't forget when I almost fell off of a hydroplane at the Apple Blossom Festival (it was so funny), and almost falling off the float when we were turning a corner in Puyallup when I didn't hear anyone say "turn". Also, when a little girl came up to me in Tacoma and wanted to get a picture of me with her when she found out I was a "real princess". It was so cute!

Who is your role model and why? My mom. Right now she has four kids at home, one in Kenya on a mission, and I'm in Washington - soon to be down in Utah as well. She manages to run everyone around to all of their events every day (trust me-there's a LOT), get a home cooked meal on the table (that is delicious!) and manages to have time to volunteer and do her own things. She's smart, beautiful, and an average day superwoman! :]

Other interesting tidbits we should know - I am the second oldest of six children and my oldest brother is in Kenya as a missionary. My family moved to Utah in June so I'm hanging out in Washington finishing my Associates Degree and my high school diploma.  I love Thai food, hot curlers, LHS boys soccer games, and driving with my friends in my 1988 Volkswagen Jetta to things such as N*Sync and Backstreet Boys. I'm also a Lakewood Lifer (been there since kindergarten), and my laugh is loud and distinctive, like my mom's laugh. :

Your advice for future Royalty Candidates - To just have fun with the whole experience - it's once in a lifetime! Always make sure you have extra bobby pins on hand just in case, and don't be afraid to go outside your box a little it :] That's what makes everything so fun!
