SEQUIM

by Carol Kapua:

This last weekend we traveled to Sequim. We all went over on Friday and spent the night not really knowing how long it would take to get there (The Hoods Canal Bridge is having some work done to it for six-eight weeks). Chuck and I left with the truck and trailer around noon with his wife escorting us. Jodi cleaned up the new van and they left around 6pm. Toni chaperoned for Sara and Frank,  Darick and DC arrived Saturday morning. It was nice to have the extra hands.

We had a broken stand and Chuck found a person to weld it for us and now the front flower that did not fit well is fine. We won the Governor's Award, which is a great award. Not sure if it first or second place.

We got the float put away and had our picnic lunch at the park, dropped Darick and DC off and we were off to drop off the float and trailer at the Park and Ride in Pt. Townsend and climbed into the van for the ride back on the ferry. That saves us a lot of money. We did have some time to go shopping while waiting for the ferry.

Thanks to Frank's wife for the great cupcakes. Sara you are a breath of fresh air! She did a great job all by herself.

Pt. Townsend Parade: We need help. This is an over and back parade. Chuck will drive the float back with his son Brad but we need a crew. Teresa will be the chaperone and will take the van and Sara is the only Royalty member. There is plenty of room in this 15 passenger van for all of us to ride in. Let me know who will be able to go. Remember you all need to do at least 3 parades. It is important to meet the other festivals. As soon as I get the information back from Pt. Townsend on what time we have to be there, I will let you know what time the van will be leaving.

Please let me know who of you will be able to do this parade and I am also looking for people to do Hyack and that is an up and back one. There is some room in the truck for that one too.
